Choosing your wedding venue in Devon is probably the most important decision you will have to make out of all the wedding arrangements so it is absolutely vital to get it right.  A truly memorable and unforgettable wedding venue should offer you all of the following:

1. Be situated in an accessible location for your guests to travel to, have stunning grounds for your photographs, and for your enjoyment on your special day. It should have facilities for disabled, and plenty of car parking space.

Lakeview Manor is a privately owned old style country manor house hotel set in 45 acres of pristine gardens and beautiful parkland with two ornamental ponds, and two fully stocked fishing lakes.The property is located in Dunkeswell, Nr Honiton in Devon and can be easily accessed by your guests from several close counties including Devon, Cornwall, Somerset, Gloucestershire, Dorset and Hampshire.  Lakeview has ample car parking for all your guests and we also have facilities for any disabled guests.

2. The venue should be licensed to hold civil wedding ceremonies in scenic surroundingsand capable of accommodating plenty of guests.

Yes,Lakeview Manor is licensed to carry out civil marriage ceremonies(for up to 100 guests) in our stunning Conservatory.

We can accommodate up to 150 guests for a seated wedding breakfast, and up to 240 for a buffet reception.

Only biodegradable confetti is permitted at Lakeview Manor.

 

3. There should be good reception areas which can accommodate a dance floor, a band, or a disco. If a wedding marquee is offered it must offer heating when necessary.

Lakeview Manor can accommodate wedding receptions of up to 100 guests in the Conservatory.  Alternatively, we can accommodate up to 150 seated guests in our wedding marquee, which can be heated if required.  We are licensed for entertainment and alcohol, we have a dance floor and have a resident DJ, or you can have a small band.

 

4. There must be excellent catering facilities available with a choice of menus for the wedding breakfast, and buffet options for any evening reception if required.

We have several menu options to choose from in our wedding packages, together with buffet options.  We can also cater for any special dietary requirements you may have for any of your wedding party.  We are also very flexible and if you have something specific in mind please feel free to discuss your ideas with our Wedding Planner.

 

5. The venue should be able to offer accommodation for any guests travelling some distance to the wedding.

Lakeview Manor has 16 bedrooms which can accommodate 43 guests and a honeymoon suite for the bridal couple, so we can easily accommodate your wedding party quests at our stunning wedding venue in Devon.

 

6. There should be a Wedding Planner who can organise the event and take the pressure off the bride and bridegroom, thus ensuring everything goes to plan on the big day.

Our Wedding Planner is Julie Whitfield, who you can contact on 01404 891287/891358. Julie will work closely with your throughout the wedding planning stages, and will also be on hand on your special day to ensure everything goes off smoothly.

 

7. The venue should offer a ‘show around’ and provide you with the opportunity to sample their food.

Yes of course our Wedding Planner, Julie Whitfield, will be more than happy to book you in an appointment to view our venue, and sample our food in our restaurant over lunch or an evening meal.

 

8. Is the venue flexible on timings and your ideas, or is it fixed and rigid in how the wedding packages are done?

Yes we are very flexible and will not lose sight of the fact that this is your special day, and we will endeavour to meet your all your requirements. Please feel happy to propose any specific ideas, timings etc. with our Wedding Planner, Julie Whitfield, who will be happy to assist you.

 

9. Is the venue reasonably priced and affordable?
