As an owner of several lodges in the area I decided to purchase at Lakeview Manor because the location for letting is just about perfect for those looking for a peaceful getaway and is within reach for most Londoners to consider a weekend break so it’s audience (for investors) is much greater than my other lodges located further west. It is firmly aimed at adults just wanting to escape the bustle of everyday life in a peaceful countryside setting whilst having beautiful seaside towns within easy reach.

The initial years under the previous owner were challenging owing to many factors which Stephen, the current owner, has addressed. The site is now gaining from economies of scale which it previously suffered. Owning a hot tub was suddenly a viable option (with reasonable rates owing to on-site maintenance) and cleaning costs are very fair. Occupancy rates have improved and now offer the proof investors often crave. Seeing deer and rabbits on a regular basis make you feel at home with nature. Julie (the manager) and her staff are excellent and efficient and having a bar and restaurant available on site is an advantage over similar sites. Julie will always go the extra mile to ensure you and your guests needs are accommodated. If you are looking at an investment with the opportunity to enjoy yourself on occasions I would thoroughly recommend.

I started holidaying more in the UK because I have a dog, this led me to explore the possibility of owning a 2nd home in the UK. I decided on lodge ownership as opposed to a bricks and mortar purchase because it seemed like the easier option. I like the security of owning a lodge within a gated community and a lodge seemed like the perfect lock up and leave option. When I first visited Lakeview Manor for my lodge viewing, I was really impressed by the hotel, grounds, and the lodge area away from the hotel.

The main things I was looking for when purchasing a holiday home would be a view over the lake, not too far from home and I wanted the development to be small and peaceful, Lakeview Manor ticked all the boxes for me. I like to visit Bicton tropical gardens when I stay in my lodge because its pet friendly, I also enjoy going on dog walks in Sidmouth. I would rate my experience at Lakeview Manor an 8.5/10 because I am generally happy with the park and my lodge. I would be happy to recommend Lakeview Manor to friends and family if they were looking for this sort of park.

We liked the idea of owning a second home but did not want to purchase a house or apartment because it could affect local people in the area wanting to purchase, we decided a lodge would be the most ethical way of proceeding with second home ownership. We wanted a location that allowed fishing and found Lakeview Manor following an internet search. We were genuinely taken back by the entrance of Lakeview Manor when we visited for the first time, the setting was 80% nicer than what we had seen elsewhere, and I remember thinking “my god this is really nice”.

The quality of fishing available was a big reason why we decided to purchase a lodge at Lakeview Manor, we also appreciate how well-maintained the lakes are. The other reasons we had for purchasing at Lakeview Manor are the idyllic location, quiet scenery and on-site bar and restaurant. When we stay in our lodge, we like to do a lot of fishing as this is free to owners, we also explore the Jurassic Coastline which is local to Lakeview Manor. If we were to rate our ownership experience it would be a strong 8/10, we are very happy and would recommend Lakeview Manor to friends and family.

We used to own a touring caravan because we enjoy the leisure lifestyle and as we approached retirement, we considered buying a static caravan but decided a holiday lodge was the best option. Our first impression of Lakeview Manor was very good after the long drive down to the manor house we passed a stunning water fountain and met Gary the Goose.

The main reasons we chose Lakeview Manor for our holiday lodge was that the park is very presentable and maintained to a much higher standard than other sites we visited. We fell in love with the peaceful setting at Lakeview Manor and the lodge sales team allowed us to customise our lodge to suit our own requirements. When staying in our lodge we like to go on local walks but our favourite activity at Lakeview Manor is relaxing in our lodge with a book and doing as little as possible, the tranquil setting really helps you relax and unwind. We will be recommending lodge ownership at Lakeview Manor as very happy owners and have no reservations scoring our experience a 9/10.
