This is a great place to stay, lovely clean room, staff very very nice, lovely grounds, nothing around so peaceful and quiet, we opted for fish n chips for our evening meal, wow was amazing, it was huge, 3 lovely pieces of crispy fresh fish, served with lovely chips n mushy peas, best I have had, food and beer was very good prices, highly recommend, the breakfast was very nice as well, very well presented, and tasty, all in all I had a great night stay, wish it was for longer, if in area again, I will stay again. HIGHLY RECCOMEND, you won’t be disappointed.

Superb setting, superb value

Needing somewhere to stay in the Honiton area at short notice over the August Bank Holiday, we really were not expecting very much of Lakeview Manor – However, what we discovered was a rare gem.

Arriving at around ten on the Saturday night, there was a wedding in full swing, at which point most would expect a somewhat sleepless night, but not here, the annexe where our room – 25 – was located is well out of earshot of the main building, we heard nothing at all.

The en-suite with a double sized shower was spotless and practically laid out.  Ours was a double room, the beds were very comfortable, only a green glow from the emergency light over the door may disturb some, but we slept soundly at Lakeview Manor – an unusually occurrence away from home in my case.

A 50 minute walk in the grounds before breakfast, even in the drizzle, was a great experience, three lakes, woods and streams create an environment second to none, making this a particularly desirable wedding venue – a photographer’s delight indeed.

Breakfast was of the highest quality, a self-serve continental spread being a starter to the main (cooked) menu, proving an ideal way to start the day. The smoked salmon and scrambled egg was superb, the best scrambled egg that I have been served in the UK probably. The lunch menu is simple, but extraordinary value and it proved to be a meal that topped off our stay nicely, eight of us, plus a two year old were catered for admirably, and the bill, including a few, mostly non-alcoholic, drinks came to less than £140.

Of the many places that I have stayed in the UK over the last 20 years, this one proved to be by a long way the best value and had the finest setting. That the basic hotel functions are so expertly taken care of makes this an unexpectedly good all-round experience.

A lovely 1 night stay

My husband and I had a lovely 1 night stay in as we travelled all the way from London for our skydive experience the next day after. The staff seemed extremely friendly, food was fresh and delicious, high level of cleanliness. Great experience, we’ve definitely enjoyed it!

Hidden Gem

Wonderful few days away with friends, lovely helpful staff and excellent food! Beautiful surroundings and comfortable beds! Countryside location but near to main roads not far from main tourist areas.

Lovely, quiet, good food, great staff, difficult to fault

2 adults, bed & breakfast, 3 nights, check in from 2pm. Comfortable room, great bed, kettle, biscuits, tea & coffee +toiletries provided. Excellent shower. Had 1 evening meal in restaurant {fish pie, very nice & lamb shanks, also very good.} breakfasts are excellent, we had cooked breakfast 1 morning, porridge on other mornings +wholemeal toast +cereals + fresh fruit + more choices. Staff are excellent, friendly, efficient and well presented. We also had 1 lunch (2 course) – which was also very good. Lovely, well-kept grounds, lakes for fishing in (guests can fish – included in stay). Room was very clean on arrival and kept clean by good maid service. As I stated – difficult to fault. We would love to stay here again.
