Further afield, Devon has not one, but two separate coastlines, both served by the South West Coast Path, for long refreshing walks with sea views. Inland, enjoy two separate moorland national parks, plentiful designated Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and trails, bridleways and nature reserves.

We’re lucky enough to be situated next to the Blackdown Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), and here you can enjoy some more challenging walks, stopping to take in some of the best views in Devon. It’s time to grab your boots and look further afield. Choosing Devon for your walking break in the UK is one of the best decisions you could make. The South West Coast Path, covering both the north and south of Devon, has miles and miles of spectacular walks. Closest to Lakeview Manor is the Jurassic coast in South Devon and Dorset, where you follow in the footsteps of dinosaurs. The north coast offers more challenging walks which are rewarded with great views and picturesque fishing villages. There are circular walks too, so you can park up and come back to the car, enjoying coast and countryside.
For a wilder experience away from the crowds, Dartmoor and Exmoor are both great places to walk, and if nature is on your agenda, take a walk in some of Devon’s wonderful nature reserves, such as Hawkswood for butterflies, Rackenford and Knowstone Moors for the possibility of red deer and Matford Marshes for bird-spotting.
